In the late 1970s, Antonino Pappalardo, an Italian immigrant from Sicily, and his wife Concetta founded a small home business in the suburb of North Melbourne, Victoria with their sons, Paul and Joe.
Drawing on their respective trades in plumbing and bathroom sales, the family established Par Taps Pty Ltd in 1980, launching their own brand of tapware, marketed as Pardol (later renamed Par Taps). Par Taps established its roots by manufacturing a small line of tapware that was designed for easy installation. In time, they expanded their offerings to include a range of imported mixer tapware and showers from Italy, which enabled the company to grow significantly. Initially operating out of a garage, Par Taps relocated to a dedicated manufacturing facility in Preston in 1986, where we continue to operate to this day.
Par Taps' innovative spirit is exemplified by their pioneering introduction of coloured tapware, featuring electroplated and powder-coated finishes that were available in both single or combination colour schemes. This proved to be an incredibly popular offering, which propelled the company to the forefront of the industry by the early 1990s, where we have remained ever since.
Although Paul and Joe retired from the company in 2004, their legacy endures through the continued leadership of Paul's children and son-in-law. Par Taps has undergone many changes over the years, including expanding its design portfolio, introducing new innovations in the colour palette, and expanding its OEM manufacturing capabilities both in Australia and abroad.
Par Taps takes great pride in crafting hand-finished products that reflect our commitment to preserving the art of traditional manufacturing. Our skilled and dedicated team of local artisans bring their expertise and passion to every step of the production process, ensuring that each piece is meticulously crafted to the highest standards of quality and durability. By employing and supporting our local community, we remain true to our heritage and continue to create products that are both beautiful and functional.
Par Taps boasts an extensive selection of over 17 distinct ranges, offering customers a vast array of options for enhancing their bathrooms or kitchens. With an impressive 40 plus decorative finishes available, customers are sure to find a design that perfectly suits their preferences and needs. Furthermore, our nationwide network of established and renowned stockists ensures that our products are widely accessible to customers across the country.

Our commitment to personalised service ensures that each customer receives a bespoke product that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
As we celebrated four decades in business in 2020, we were reminded of the enduring impact that Paul Pappalardo, who sadly passed in 2018 at the age of 72, had on our company's success. We honour his legacy by maintaining the same unwavering commitment to quality and customer service that has distinguished us as Australia's most trusted tapware manufacturer.
We invite you to experience the Par Taps difference and discover for yourself why our customers continue to entrust us with their bathroom and kitchen needs.
